When lifting use
The Safest Way approach -
applying the basic mechanics of lifting.

SLOW DOWN.
Don't rush into any lifting situation.

ANTICIPATE.
Estimate weight. Do you need help?
Where is the object goinig to be moved?

FACE THE OBJECT.
Face the object and set your feet about shoulder's width apart.

EASE DOWN.
Bend at the knees - not at the waist, and keep your back straight.

SECURE A GOOD GRIP.
 

TAKE YOUR TIME.
Lift with your leg muscles. Move with your feet. Don't twist at the waist.
